Caring for oak on a desk
Oiled wood darkens and marks. Here is what to do, and what to leave alone.

Our clocks and the turntable plinth are oiled oak, not lacquered. That means they can be repaired, and it means they will change.
Once a year
Rub in a little hard-wax oil with a cotton cloth, wait ten minutes and buff it off. Skip the polish sprays: they leave a film that makes the next coat uneven.
